🌲 Ultimate Beginner Guide to 99 Nights in the Forest

New to the forest? This guide covers everything you need to know to survive your first nights and start working toward day 99.

🎮 Game Overview

99 Nights in the Forest is a Roblox survival game by Grandma's Favourite Games. Your goal is simple: keep the campfire burning and stay alive until day 99. A day lasts about 3 minutes and a night about 1 minute 30 seconds. On day 99 you see the final cutscene, and you can keep playing afterward if you want.

The forest is full of threats. The most dangerous is the Deer, a huge two-legged deer monster that hunts at night. Other monsters include the Ram, Owl, Bat, and Cat. Cultists can walk into your camp, and wild animals such as wolves, alpha wolves, bears, and bunnies roam the woods. You also have to manage hunger, and temperature in snowy areas.

🌙 Your First Days

On your first night, the Deer does not attack. Use this time to gather basic materials and learn the area. Collect wood and any food you find, and learn how to add fuel to the campfire.

On day 2 the Pelt Trader arrives, and you can trade bunny feet and wolf pelts. Around day 4, cultists start raiding at night. By then you should have at least a basic weapon and a feel for the campfire system.

Do not wander far at night. The safe zone around the burning campfire is your protection from the Deer.

🔥 Keeping the Campfire Alive

The campfire constantly loses fuel and burns faster during rain and snowstorms. Keep feeding it logs, coal, or fuel canisters. If the fire goes out, the Deer comes for you and enemies can enter your camp. You also lose health regeneration and map access.

The campfire has six levels. Each level expands the accessible map and the safe zone. Near the fire you can cook raw food and recharge flashlights.

Never leave the campfire unattended for long. In a team, assign one player to watch it.

🦌 Surviving the Deer

The Deer cannot be damaged by any weapon. The only way to stop it briefly is a flashlight beam, which stuns it for a moment and gives you time to run back to the campfire.

The Deer will not enter the campfire zone while the fire is burning, and it leaves in the morning. If your fire goes out, it comes as a Hungry Deer.

When you are out at night, carry a flashlight and know the fastest route back to the fire. Do not fight the Deer: run, stun if needed, and reach safety.

🧒 Missing Children and the Day Multiplier

Four children have been taken by the Deer: Dino Kid, Kraken Kid, Squid Kid, and Koala Kid. Each rescued child adds one more day counted per night.

Your day counter starts at x1. By rescuing the children and building beds at the Crafting Bench, you can raise the multiplier up to x9 days per night.

The first child, Dino Kid, is usually reachable after the campfire hits level 2. He is in a red cave guarded by five wolves, so bring a weapon and a friend if possible. Rescued children set up tents near the campfire.

🛠️ Crafting Priorities

Put junk into the Grinder to get scrap and wood, then spend them at the Crafting Bench, which has three tiers. At tier 1 the most important blueprint is the map, which makes exploration far less risky.

At tier 2 you can craft a Sun Dial and a Farm Plot, which lets you grow food. At tier 3 you get the Crock Pot, which turns raw ingredients into stews.

Prioritize the map first, then beds for the day multiplier, then farm plots for a steady food supply.

🍖 Managing Food

Your hunger bar keeps dropping, and faster while you run. If it reaches zero, you starve. Food comes from hunted animals, crops on the map, the Crock Pot, Farm Plots, and loot in buildings. You can also fish with a rod.

Cook raw food at the campfire before eating, and keep some cooked food in your inventory. Hunger can kill you faster than any monster on a long trip.

👥 Playing with Friends

The game is much easier with a coordinated team. Assign roles: one person keeps the fire fueled, another gathers materials, another scouts for the missing children. The solo vs team and team roles guides go into detail.

The Cultist Stronghold is a high-risk, high-reward stone fortress with waves of cultists. It is not for beginners: bring ranged weapons and friends. It resets every 20 minutes and gets harder each time.

Many players search for a 99 nights in the forest script hoping for an easy win, but the game rewards planning and cooperation. A solid strategy with friends beats a risky exploit that could get your account banned.
